The high-voltage AC and DC power supply are not implemented on the inverter. In this build level, the board is executed in open-loop fashion with a fixed duty cycle. The duty cycles are set to 50% for the motor.
The Modular Multilevel Converter, introduced for HVDC by Siemens Energy more than a decade ago, is the well-established standard for high voltage, high power VSC applications today. In Siemens Energy HVDC PLUS systems, one modular multilevel converter comprises three Single-phase inverter.
The high-voltage DC power supply is implemented on the inverter, the bias power supply for the MCU controller and IPM is provided by the auxiliary power-supply module. Figure 4-2 shows the software flow for this build level. Figure 4-2.
