They act as intermediaries between the power grid and an electric vehicle (EV), controlling the current and voltage supply to ensure that charging is done efficiently and safely.

A charging pile is similar to a charging station where AC power is converted to DC power to charge the battery of the vehicle. However, a charging pile can just be an AC to AC conversion with more focus on diagnostics and monitoring.
Although “charging pile” and “charging station” are occasionally used interchangeably, they describe different ideas. A charging pile is the basic component of an electric power infrastructure that allows electricity to flow to the vehicle.
