Poland’s Institute for Renewable Energy says the country’s combined solar capacity nearly reached 20.7 GW by the end of November 2024, putting it on track to hit 21 GW by year-end. The institute’s analysis indicates utility-scale projects are driving Poland’s solar expansion and will continue to do so.
Poland’s latest renewables auction, held in December, approved 126 solar projects greater than 1 MW at a maximum price of PLN 334.77 ($83.31)/MWh and 72 solar projects of no more than 1 MW at a maximum price of PLN 388/MWh.
In November, a report from the IEO found almost 4,100 solar projects with a combined capacity in excess of 19 GW are ready for implementation in Poland.
